The course tuition is refundable, minus a $10 processing fee, if your cancellation is received in writing no later than April 17, 2020.

To register by check: Print your registration and send the check to Origami Rehab, 3181 Sandhill Rd., Mason, MI 48854. Mailed registrations must be received by April 17, 2020, to confirm your registration.

Attendee substitutions are permitted, but notification must be made in writing by April 17, 2020. After this date, under no circumstances will refunds, credits, or substitutions be granted. No refunds or credits will be given to "no shows."

Due to the threat of COVID-19 entering our community, we are postponing The 14th Annual Brain Injury Symposium of Mid-Michigan until further notice.

NEW THIS YEAR: SYMPOSIUM SPEED NETWORKING – ASK THE EXPERTS

During the lunch hour, we will be offering an energetic and informative style of networking. The goal of these sessions is for attendees to make connections, ask questions, and gain access to valuable industry resources. A variety of industry experts will be prepared to discuss and answer questions on topics including, but not limited to, social security benefits, Michigan’s auto insurance changes, available Community Support Group resources, CARF credentialing, and more. The experts at each Symposium Speed Networking station will provide attendees with valuable resources and handouts.

 

Purpose/Goals:
Attendees will leave this event excited about the important work they do, and with more knowledge about neurological rehabilitation. We have a fantastic lineup of industry experts who will enhance attendees’ understanding of a variety of topics geared toward professionals in healthcare, rehabilitation, and other health-related service industries. 

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to… 

  • Understand the future trends of biomarkers, biomarkers relationship to the health brain, and biomarkers relationship to the injured brain.
  •  Identify methods of rehabilitation for obtainment and maintenance of productive activity for individuals with neurologic injury.
  • Identify strategies that can improve outcomes and the delivery of care across the continuum of care for individuals with brain injury.
  •  Mechanisms of recovery and the complexities of persistent symptoms after pediatric traumatic brain injury.
  •  Causes and consequences of unhelpful thinking patterns as well as useful strategies for managing symptoms and experiences in the context of brain injury recover.
