Tom Judd Appointed Board President of Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council (MBIPC)

We are excited to recognize and announce Tom Judd, Origami’s Director of Quality Assurance has transitioned from Vice-President to President of the Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council Board of Directors.

The Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council (MBIPC) is a 501(c)(6) trade association that has been serving providers in professions related to brain injury rehabilitation since 1987. MBIPC’s purpose is to enhance its members’ ability to provide high-quality, ethical rehabilitation, health care, and related services to people with a brain injury. This is accomplished through resource sharing and information exchange, professional development and education, promotions of beneficial legislation, advocacy for brain injury services, and support for the Brain Injury Association of Michigan.

MBIPC continues to be a driving force in advocating for equity in access to quality post-acute brain injury rehabilitation. Their contributions and leadership are vital in ensuring individuals with brain injury and our State’s most vulnerable have the coverage and care they need and deserve.

Judd has been on the Origami team since 2007 and has consistently demonstrated his leadership capabilities, attention to detail, and mission-focused drive. He started his Origami career as a Care Coordinator and continued to ascend through the organization to reach his current role as Director of Quality Assurance.

Origami’s President & CEO, Tammy Hannah, shares her congratulations stating, “throughout his career, Tom has been a champion for survivors of brain injury and their families. Tom’s leadership abilities and keen eye for detail have made him a vital asset to the MBIPC Board, and I am certain he will continue to add value as he transitions to his new role as President. Tom brings a plethora of industry experience and knowledge and has witnessed firsthand how valuable resources such as the Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council and Origami can be.”

Judd reflects on his new role stating, “I am humbled to have been entrusted with the role of the Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council Board President. As we continue to fight for necessary fixes to our State’s recent auto insurance changes and other systems, including our State Medicaid system and commercial health insurance coverage for brain injury rehabilitation, we need to remain united and committed to transforming our challenges into opportunities for improvement and reform. I am excited because I know the talent, passion, dedication, commitment, knowledge, and resources that we have in the MBIPC.”

In addition to Judd’s role at Origami and on the MBIPC Board of Directors, he also serves as a surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and as a Board Member for the Brain Injury Association of Michigan.
