Dr. Jose Herrera

As a psychiatrist, I believe in treating the whole person and supporting each individual's journey toward wellness. I have over a decade of experience in inpatient and outpatient care for adults, as well as specialized experience in correctional psychiatry, sports psychiatry, and addiction medicine.

I meet my clients where they are and use a collaborative, evidence-based approach to help them achieve their goals. In collaboration with Mood. Mental Health and Origami, I offer in-person appointments at Origami's Mason location, and virtual appointments for all Origami locations.

I earned my medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed my residency there as well. I also served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at MSU for over ten years, teaching and mentoring future clinicians.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling across the U.S., attending live music and arts events, and spending time with family.
