Aidan's Story
Aidan was two months old when he was brought into foster care with head trauma, a brain bleed, seizures, and fractured ribs. A local family took him into their care and began working tirelessly to get him the rehabilitation he needed.
Due to his injuries, Aidan has been developmentally delayed throughout his young life. One of our occupational therapists knows the family and when she met Aidan she started keeping a keen “therapy eye” on him. When she noticed constant patch wearing, clumsiness, toe walking, etc. she asked a few questions, which resulted in Aidan being referred to Origami. When our team member began talking with Aidan’s mom, she was so thankful that this would open some new doors for Aidan.
Aidan, who was non-verbal until he was one year old, has been at Origami receiving occupational and physical therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology services. He continues to make progress and now we have begun treating Aidan’s brother who has experienced many developmental delays, as well.
This family - who have 6 adopted children with incredible needs - is so grateful for the progress both boys have made in such a short time. They say the best part is watching the boys be so very proud of themselves when they accomplish a goal – there is nothing better. This family is filled with gratitude at each therapy session and these boys fill the hearts of our entire team at Origami each time they visit.
