Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
A traumatic brain injury occurs when an external force, such as a fall, motor vehicle accident, violence, or sports-related injury, causes damage to the brain. A traumatic brain injury can range from mild to severe and may result in physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral changes. The type and severity of deficits vary depending on the location and extent of injury, as well as individual recovery factors.
