Therapeutic Recreation

A staff member helps two client with arts and crafts.

Significant lifestyle changes can impact quality of life. Therapeutic recreation uses meaningful, functional, and satisfying interventions/activities to address our client's goals.

Origami's Residential Program and Day Treatment track encourages clients to participate in therapeutic recreational group offerings. The groups use skills and strategies learned in therapy to enjoy healthy leisure activities.

In addition, the recreational therapist can work directly with the clients to address individualized leisure and recreational goals. This can include community reintegration, accessibility to past leisure and recreation pursuits, learning a new identified leisure experience, and more!
