Vision Therapy

Origami occupational therapist works with client

Clearer Vision. Better Balance. Stronger Performance.

Vision Therapy at Origami focuses on improving how the brain and eyes work together. Following injury, illness, or developmental challenges, visual skills such as tracking, focusing, and processing can become impaired, impacting everything from reading and balance to athletic performance and daily tasks.

Our specially trained occupational and physical therapists collaborate with neuro-visual optometrists to deliver individualized, evidence-based care that supports visual, physical, and cognitive function.

How We Help

Every individual begins with a comprehensive vision screening and evaluation to identify areas of need and guide treatment planning.

Your care may include:

  • Exercises to improve eye tracking, teaming, and focusing
  • Visual-motor integration training to support coordination and daily tasks
  • Techniques to reduce double vision, eye strain, and headaches
  • Visual processing activities to strengthen how the brain interprets visual information
  • Balance and postural integration to support whole-body function
  • Coordination with a neuro-visual optometrist for specialized care

Because vision plays a critical role in everyday life, our goal is to help individuals function more confidently at home, school, work, and in the community.

Our Specialized Vision Services

Vision Therapy

Vision therapy targets visual-motor and visual-perceptual-cognitive skills, helping improve how the eyes and brain work together. This can include strengthening eye movements, improving focus, and enhancing visual processing for daily function.

Because vision changes are common following neurological conditions, every client referred to occupational therapy at Origami receives a vision screening to support early identification and intervention.

Neuro-Visual Postural Training (NVPT)

Neuro-Visual Postural Therapy focuses on the connection between vision, posture, and balance. Following a neurological event, disruptions in spatial awareness and visual processing can affect stability and movement.

Through collaboration with a neuro-visual optometrist, our therapists integrate:

  • Visual processing and spatial awareness training
  • Postural and balance exercises
  • Proprioceptive integration techniques

This approach helps reduce fall risk while improving balance, posture, and overall functional movement.

Sports Vision Training

Our sports vision services are designed for athletes of all ages and skill levels looking to improve performance or recover from injury.

Training may include:

  • Reaction time and visual speed drills
  • Hand-eye coordination exercises
  • Eye tracking and peripheral awareness training
  • Dynamic visual acuity work
  • Sport-specific drills tailored to gaze patterns and movement demands

This service is ideal for athletes aiming to gain a competitive edge or those recovering from a concussion with symptoms like blurred vision, headaches, or difficulty focusing.
